What's with all the Turmeric hype?

Yea- I know you have probably asked yourself this question at least once in past couple years. I promise there is just cause for the hype!

Let’s start with a bit of history.

Curcuma Ionga, better knowns as Turmeric, is a yellowish-gold spice native to the land of India. Some may notice the same yellowish-gold color in a common cooking spice called curry which is derived from Indian cuisines and can be found in Caribbean cuisines. This herb is also popular in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. When used in soaps and other cosmetics, like in some of the products in Jintara’s ® Hadaka Line, it is usually formulated in powder or extract liquid form.

With the increased demand of natural alternatives to care for the human body, turmeric has become a popular choice for vegan and non-vegans alike. Another notable fact : For centuries, it has been widely shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is believed that such properties are beneficial when used topically for bettering the appearance of problematic skin.

With this ideology in mind, Jintara® absolutely loves the glow enhancing characteristics and overall betterment of problematic skin occurrences such as psoriasis, eczema, hyperpigmentation and dullness. Combined with other well believed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant packed herbs, oils, and butters—you can find this wonderful botanical in an array of our plants based soaps.

As always- we make no medical claims to treat or cure any conditions or diseases . Jintara® does and always will only make one claim about our soaps- they provide a comfortable and desirable plant based cleaning experience.
